Do you recognize this plant?
You harvest them all at once.
Soybeans.
Edamame by it's Japanese name.
Boil the pods in salted water for about 5 minutes.
Drain, cool a bit, or chill, and pop out the beans from the pods
straight into your mouth.
Love them, but they're gone now.
Pumpkins are growing bigger, and bigger....
Last year we had one or more for every grand kid.
Family fun!
The yellow bell peppers are showing some color.
Hurry up though....
The squash continues to bloom.
The plants are just now starting to
show some powdery mildew.
Hopefully it won't be as bad as last year.
The corn is finished. It was so great while it lasted.
I have a few packages tucked away in the freezer for the winter time.
The first crop of green beans are also finished,
but a second crop that my cousin planted are up and growing.
The tomatoes are finally... finally getting ripe!
I feel like that shrimp guy in Forest Gump.
Tomato sandwiches,
Tomato pasta sauce,
tomato salad,
tomato bruschetta,
tomato home made pizza
tomato salsa,
tomato jam,
tomato....
Yep, this photo is from last year.
This season, they're not quite as abundant... yet.
