This was my first year as a hostess for a table.
We started getting ready
right after attending last years Think Pink Tea.
First stop, to visit JoAnn's Fabric shop
where I found this fall/floral storage box with a lid.
That was the inspiration for the fall theme with it's rich colors.
Then I added:
A ceramic pumpkin with a metal leaf and curlicue that I found at Kohl's last fall.
Also inside there's a crow shelf sitter ornament,
a wonderful hazelnut scented candle,
two pumpkin kitchen towels,
two fall picks (berries, and glittered fall colored leaves),
a set of autumn page decorations for paper crafting,
a leaf shaped ornament, and an acorn bell.
We collected 145 raffle tickets for our donated gift basket and wreath.
I'm thrilled! That's just over $120. There were 28 tables all together
each with 8 to 10 guests. Each table had their own raffle gift item.
The ACS Discovery Shop had a nice shopping area with tons of
items to purchase. Each guest also paid $25. to attend the tea.
The Red Lion Inn donates the rooms we use.
I counted 60 plus business listed in the program
who donated items to raffle. I don't know how much
money was raised but it must have been alot.
Behind the box I set a chrysanthemum wreath (from JoAnn's),
which was also part of the raffle gift item to
give to the lucky winner.
After everyone was seated, I removed the gift box
and laid the wreath down flat so that we could see each other
across the table.
I found the little pumpkin place card holders at
Harry and David (Medford Oregon) on clearance a few years ago.
Open it and there's a sweet chocolate truffle
tucked inside.
Crystal water goblets are from Macy's Christmas sales last winter.
The kitchen towels were from JoAnns Fabric store last fall.
I didn't know how I would fit them in at the time, but I loved the way they
looked. Especially after I stitched the leaf and acorn ornaments to them.
They look awfully cute hanging in the kitchen.
Later with a snip of thread they can be laundered and used.
I made the table cloth. Ninety ~ inch round tablecloths are a bit of a problem
to find especially if you don't want to spend $50. I finally decided that making
one would work better for my budget.
The place mats, napkins and autumn colored silverware were from Ross Dress for Less store.
The china we used belongs to my cousin Phylis.
Her dad brought it home from Japan
while serving in the military. We're using it for next years
gold and white snowflake theme.
The chargers were from Walmart this season.
It's their Better Homes and Garden line.
I love their rich color and would you believe they're plastic.
They actually look like carved wooden plates.
Remember those
gift bags I made. I placed one on
each seat. Inside each bag I added an extra paper napkin, a couple of
Zip Lock baggies in case they wanted to take a bit of leftovers home, and the pink
program. There was room enough
in their bags to tuck in the dish towel and the little pumpkin as well.
The Redding Grange donated the sandwiches
for our tea.
