Taking Care.

Almost every woman I know is concerned about being able to give enough, care enough, and just be enough. All the while, we end up putting ourselves way down towards the bottom of our list of priorities.

But once in awhile we need to share an afternoon, a day, or even a weekend with other girlfriends or family members. We need a girls time out to nurture ourselves and to enjoy each others company. We need to laugh together, share with each other our joys, longings, and even sorrows. We can share these things and not expect or even want an answer or solution. Taking a break renews our sense of well being. It makes us more capable of being the caretakers that we are needed to be.   Because that’s what we do, and don’t say you’ll get to it some day…. Because the unexpected does happen.

This post is dedicated  in loving memory to Norma Jean, who knew what it was to be a caretaker to her friends.

  1. So true! Norma Jean must have been a very SPECIAL LADY! I thank God every day for my women friends - just think how long we have been "friends" - since high school...thank you for that!
