February Beach Time

We went back to Brookings earlier this
month to take care of estate business.
We headed over on a Saturday after work
and got there in time to head straight to bed,
tired but happy to have the whole next day
with no plans except to take the whole day
to enjoy being on the coast
 before having to get back
to the business we needed to take care of.

We spent part of that day
on Lone Ranch Beach with a picnic lunch,
Liberty and a camera in hand.

On a table next to ours,
 someone had left an interesting
shaped bottle that would
have looked good with a couple stems of
wild flowers tucked inside.
Turns out it was a liquor bottle.

But, looking out at the scene,
there was something else to catch my eye.

I had to attach the long range lens
to get a better look.

This area was the area he was heading into
to get back on the beach.
That path on the right leads there.
After awhile, he passes by on his
way back up to the parking area.

Look at how large those two fish are.

Up at the parking area he had tied his fish
to the side of the truck, and left them there
to flop about.

Then he drove back up the hill side,
to the highway and probably all the way
home with those fish hanging
off the side of the truck.

  1. So he was fishing from a surf board ?? Never saw that before..Very strange but it seemed to work..I think he could have done something a little more aesthetic with the fish..From the looks of his truck, he wasn't interested in aesthetics :)..Good to hear from you Pat..Thanks for your nice comment..Miss you..

  2. Now that is a different way to catch a fish. I like that first picture...saved it to my files. You take the neatest pictures. Well, it is always nice to get away for a day or two...kind of like renewing your batteries.
    Have a good one, Louise

  3. Did you take the bottle? Good job on getting the pictures of the fisherman.
