Thanksgiving 2012

 We had the nicest Thanksgivings.
Um, yeah that was plural.

Thursday we had turkey dinner #1
at our cousins house.
Then on Friday
we traveled up to Mt. Shasta
to have turkey dinner #2 at our
daughters home.

Our son and granddaughter Gwendolyn
came up from southern CA to spend
a couple of days with us for Thanksgiving.
Oh my gosh, it was wonderful
having our own little core family together
along with all the grand-kids.

Cousins Gwendolyn
and Conner got along well together.
They both helped me make cherry
pies on Thanksgiving day.
There's no photos of that...
we were having too much fun.

Just three months shy of two years old,
Katelyn is taking piano lessons (smile)
from her older brother AJ.

It's taking awhile,
but she does have a bit
of long hair right on top.

I didn't get a good photo of
oldest brother Isaiah.
 Next time.

Here's Katelyn

 thoroughly enjoying
the cream whipped for
Thanksgiving pumpkin and
cherry pies.

  Our day ended with
the golden glow settling on the
mountain.

A bittersweet ending
after having to say goodbye
to our son and granddaughter Gwen.
We don't see them often enough.

Meanwhile
back at home.

After the last rain storm,
our oaks turned an awesome
golden yellow and the hills are
just glowing around here.
WOW!

Now were heading into
a series of three heavy rain storms.
It's going to slam in here
any minute ... the weather man
forecasts 8 inches or more of rain
before it's over.
The newspaper is offering
storm advise for flooding and
possible power outages.
It's sounding rather dire.

Poor Liberty.
She had spay surgery yesterday
and isn't feeling herself.
She followed me upstairs last night
and plopped herself on the landing.
She took a half hour nap
before gathering her energy to
come back down the stairs.

The vet doctor said to keep her
inactive for two weeks.
She's not to run or jump...
She's to be on a leash when she
goes outdoors.
No exercise...
I don't know how we're
going to accomplish that.

The vet seemed to be concerned
for us.

He left us a note
saying that she seems to be
a very active dog...

Yeah ya think!

  1. It sounds like you had a very lovely Thanksgiving with family. Your grandchildren are adorable, love the one licking the beaters, precious!
Poor Liberty, she looks a little tuckered out.

  2. Your grandchildren are beautiful! Spending time with family is the best way to spend the holiday.
Wow the trees are so vibrant. Our leaves are long gone. Those pics of the mountain are spectacular!
Poor Libby. Maybe the surgery will calm her down a bit. Our brittany spaniel fell off the back
of our couch(she saw a squirrel out the window) 1 week after her surgery and some of her intestine slipped through her incision.
It was awful! Of course she had to have an additional surgery to fix that.
Those docs are not kidding around about the level of activity.
