Second Day at the Coast.

Just north of Patrick's Point
there's a county park which
has easier access to Agate Beach
than Patrick's Point State Park.
Rather than walk down treacherous
cliff paths to the beach,
we drove outside the park
and parked within an easy
sandy walk straight onto the beach.
So much easier on the knees.

Looking south at Agate Beach and Patrick's Point.

Same Beach looking north.
Love that it's mostly empty and ours
to enjoy for the morning.

Looking down searching for agates
and interesting stones.

I found a couple of these
small sand dollars.
I don't think I've ever seen them this small.

The kids found a
a sandy hill to have fun on.

That's Isaiah in the foreground.
This may be the first time
I've put a photo of him on the blog.
AJ didn't come as he decided to stay
home with his mom.

Katelyn's slide.

Gwendolyn's turn.

This hill kept them busy for a long while.

Other people out enjoying their day.

Back at the campsite for dinner.
It rained, and rained and rained.
The ocean took Isaiah's other flip flop.
The next day Isaiah found the other one,
washed back up onto the beach.

We made dinner in this mess
and decided that this night was a washout.
The bedding was wet inside the tents.
The grandkids were soaked.
It was cold.
Our kids abandoned the campsite for the
night and they all spent the night at
hotels down in Arcata.

We already were staying at Trinidad Inn
nearby, so we were fine.
