After all those construction zone delays
on our way to the coast,
we caught up with family at the
recreated Sumeg Village
inside Patrick's Point State Park.
It's used by the local Yuroks
for education and to share
their culture with visitors.
The buildings are made with local redwood.
Nearby there's a Native American plant garden.
Gwen and Conner.
Gwendolyn and Katelyn.
My Lyn girls.
The 'play tent' was quite entertaining.
We gave each of the kids
their very own flashlights.
They were waiting for it to
finally get dark which didn't happen
till after 9PM.
The fog bank rolling in.
Kinda hard to remember
how nice that was.
Yesterday,
here at home it was 111 degrees.
The Blue Jay's were just waiting
for any opportunity
to sneak away with bits of food
stolen from the picnic table.
They got away with a
whole bag of popcorn.
No axe,
no kindling,
no problem.
Ready for toasted marshmallows,
and s'mores.
Thumbs up.
Gwendolyn's
vegetarian marshmallows,
were delicious.
It's going to take me several
blog posts to share some of
Trinidad/Patrick's Point.
I have to decide which photos
to use... out of 375 or so.
